Using a diffusion stone pays off with a reliable level of carbonation every time.Our 0.5 micron stone is ideal to force carbonate your kegged beer, or as an aeration stone prior to fermentation.
It produces nice small bubbles, giving more surface area for diffusion.

How to Use the Diffusion Stone?
* The "Stone" sits inside the keg near the bottom.
* A hose barb attaches it to a length of tubing (generally about 2 feet of 1/4" ID thick wall vinyl hose) which is affixed to the short downtube under the "in" or "gas side" post.
* When the CO2 is connected, it sends a tremendous number of gas bubbles out through the beer. The miniscule bubbles create a huge amount of surface area to help absorb CO2 rapidly into the beer. This is actually a miniature version of a device used by commercial breweries everywhere.
* Carbonation should be virtually instantaneous, though the manufacturer recommends carbonating your beer at least a few hours before serving.

Carbonation stone is called air aeration stones, gas diffuser stone, or nano bubbles generator and come in many shapes, sizes. Usually this easily adaptable diffusion or carbonation stones are made of stainless steel. its main purpose is to gradually diffuse micro air bubbles through into your water with the help of a pump and tubing. They do not clog and give a better distribution of air with finer bubbles than other types of aeration systems.

Attaching the aeration stone barb to a 1/4" ID hose, and the other side of the hose can be attached with the "gas in" post on a keg and then connect the keg with CO2 regulator.

[ Boiled Clean]:

The 0.5 micron diffusion stone needs to be boiled in water to get clean & unclog the pores. Sometimes if the aeration stone get blocked, can be dipped in acid for 15 seconds and then rinse with water.

Sintered air stone diffusers are often used for porouse gas injecting. They have different pore sizes(0.5um to 100um) allowing small bubbles to flow through it. They can be used for gas transfer aeration, generating high volumes of fine, uniform bubbles often used for the treatment of wasewater, volatile stripping and steam injection. With greater gas and liquid contact area, the time and volume required to dissolve gas into liquid is reduced. This is accomplished by reducing the bubble size, which creates many tiny, slow moving bubbles that result in a large increase in absorption.

Please Note

Clean the diffusion stone thoroughly before and after use.

It is necessary to install an air filter to ensure the air goes through is clean.

To avoid getting clogged, don't use your bare hands to touch the surface of aeration stone

FAQ

Q1. Can this be used in a fish tank?
-- Yes, it can be used in a fish tank technically. Just please be ware, this is a 0.5 micron stone, it only produces very tiny bubbles.

Q2.Is this air stone (diffuser) made of ozone resistant materials like glass, stainless-steel, or ceramic?
-- The item description says 316 stainless steel. 316 stainless is somewhat compatible with low concentration ozone.

Q3. How to install it into cornelius keg?
-- The barb on the stone can attach the end of hose. And the another end of hose can install into your dip tube on keg lid.

Q4. What's any noticeable difference between 0.5 and 2 micron stone?
-- Compared with 2 micron stone, 0.5 micron diffusion stone will greatly increase the surface area of gas and liquid contact , making the gas easier and faster to combine with liquid. It will improve your beer & drink mouth-feel.

Q5.Can this be used with a portable aerator like the marine metal bubble box?
-- I use mine with an aquarium aerator. The big question is always hose and barb size. If those match or you can step up or down

Q6.Can this stone be cleaned with a perchlorate (like PBW) cleanser?
-- This is not a stone, though it acts like one. It is made out of 316 Stainless Steel. It can be washed in PBW then sanitized in Star San. Do not touch the aerated head with bare fingers.
